About Us

Troop 713 is part of the Thunderbird District in the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council.  We are located in Lakeland, FL and were founded in 1996.  Our troop is home to approximately 30 active Scouts. Together with an enthusiastic group of adult volunteers we work to create a program that embodies the Mission and Vision of Scouting.

Our Troop Meetings are held at the Presbyterian Church in the Highlands located at 1010 Lake Miriam Drive, Lakeland, FL 33813  Troop meetings are every Monday from 6:30pm to 8:00pm (exception, holidays, winter, spring and summer school breaks). Additionally once every quarter we hold our Court of Honor ceremonies. We welcome prospective Scouts to any of our Troop Meetings but ask that you contact our Committee Chair to arrange a visit. The contact information is listed below.

 Why join Troop 713?

Troop 713 is a Scout-run organization that is supported by a large group of trained adult volunteers. The Scouts plan our calendar of events and then work to coordinate efforts with the adult sponsor of each event. As an active Troop we support many activities but some of our traditional events are:

  • Monthly Troop Camping
  • Summer Camp (A week long adventure open to all boys)
  • BSA High Adventure Camp
  • WAA (Wreaths Across America)
  • Planned Hiking and Cycling Trips
  • Kayaking and Canoeing and Tubing
  • Various Service Activities for the Community
